Dog with a history of human aggression are not typical of the breed. Due to concerns for public health and legal liability we will NOT accept dogs that have a history of aggression towards people (this includes children).

If you intend on surrendering your dog please make sure that it is up to date on all vaccinations before contacting the rescue. We will not accept any dog into rescue without a current rabies vaccination and certificate.

Can't keep your Presa?

The Presa Canario Rescue will take owner surrenders on a limited basis.  Please note, our primary concern are the dogs that do not have the option of a home right now.  We are not a breeder dumping ground. 

We are working on a surrender application. In the meantime, please email your closest regional contact, and discuss the dog and the situation with them first. Dogs may only be accepted into Presa Rescue by Carla or Genevieve after proper evaluation by a local contact.
